Cancer | The Solstice

Cancer marks our descent into the darkest point of the year here in the Southern Hemisphere whilst simultaneously marking the rise into the lightest point of the year for those in the Northern Hemisphere. Showing us she has the capacity to feel and hold the full spectrum of this human experience.

Cancer is intuitive AF, she is the mother, she is the baby, she is it all. She can feel it all and she holds it all deep within her.

Remember how Gemini taught us to approach our surroundings with curiosity? We are invited to bring that same level of curiosity while exploring our internal landscape.

Our inner world can feel scary sometimes because it is a deep well of unknown, it can only be felt and forever will remain unseen. However, I encourage you to remember that not all emotion is heavy, being ‘emotional’ also includes feelings of bliss, joy, happiness, ecstasy, peace etc

Most of us were never taught how to actually feel our emotions so this Cancer season we are being called to do so. Our emotions are our internal compass so it’s crucial we form a relationship to them. Cancer sits on the axis of reparenting making her the Divine Mother of the Zodiac.

So we are being asked to tend to our inner world, to give ourselves some love, care and nurturance. To trust our internal mother because mother knows best and to reparent our inner child (her baby). When we drop into the archetype of the compassionate mother it allows us to know it is safe to FEEL, because we are internally held. To ALLOW ourselves to feel our emotions if often the first step. Know that your sensitivity is your divinity.

Cancer teaches us it’s okay and necessary to retreat into your shell sometimes for the sake of self-honouring, as we cannot pour from an empty cup. So this month fill up your inner waters with self-compassion and motherly love 💗
