Capricorn

Sagittarius had us exploring beyond the limits we knew. Capricorn arrives asking us how we are going to proceed. How will you live within the integrity of the belief systems established with Sagittarius? Can responsibility be found within freedom?

Capricorn initiates us into the final time marker of the Zodiac, the Summer or Winter Solstice, depending on which hemisphere you reside in. This feels fitting, as one expression of the Capricorn-Cancer axis is the Axis of Time. Another is the Axis of Reparenting, a beautiful reminder that our archetypes are multifaceted in their expressions.

I like the expression of Cancer & Capricorn as the timekeepers of the Zodiac. We are not speaking of time as a linear concept. When I say time, I am referring to the awareness of the finite nature of the human vessel, our aging, our maturation, our accountability, our becoming.

The Capricorn Sea Goat ~ half earth, half water ~ reminds us to remember the heart, our emotions and our sensitivity, as we climb the mountain of achievement and shape our masterpiece in this world.

Ruled by Saturn ~ the harsh daddy of the planetary bodies, this season we are reminded that we cannot cut corners when it comes to building the foundations of life. Time may feel as though it slows during this month, and that is by design. Capricorn teaches patience, asking us to expand our capacity for self-discipline so we can meet the responsibilities that lie ahead.
